Common Irrational Thoughts

1. People must always love me or I will be miserable.

2. Making mistakes is terrible.

3. My emotions can't be controlled.

4. Self-discipline is too hard to achieve.

6. I must always depend on others

7. My childhood will always dominate my behaviour as an adult.

8. I believe there is a single perfect solution for my problem and all I have to do
is find it.

9. I am an exceptional person (prince in disguise or a superwoman) and require special privileges and favours. I shouldn't have to live within the limits and restrictions of ordinary mortals.

10. Beliefs held be respected authorities or society must be correct and therefore shouldn't be questioned.

11. If others criticize me i must have done something wrong.

12. I can't help what I think. If I think there is something wrong iwth me, then there is.

13. To be good, moral, worthwhile person, I must help everyone who needs it.

14. Strong, healthy, stable people solve their own problems.

15. I should be like others.

16. It's unfair that the world is not the way I would like it to be.

17. I am not responsible for what happens to me. Others are at fault when things go wrong for me.

18. I can't accept myself unless I have self-confidence.

19. I can always tel what people think of me.

20. I am a born worrier.
